COTU is an ambitious public art and architectural concept for St. Moritz: a monumental 20-metre
mirror-polished stainless-steel sphere designed as both a sculptural landmark and an immersive
360-degree media environment. Inside, a panoramic LED installation transforms the sphere into a virtual
event space for film, art, presentations, performances and shared experiences.
A 3-metre version has stood in front of the Waldhaus Hotel at Lake St. Moritz since 2013 and serves as an
early physical reference for the larger vision. The full-scale COTU project is currently in development and is
conceived as a distinctive new symbol for St. Moritz, reflecting the alpine landscape and the light for which
the destination is internationally known.
