Cylinders and Spheres — Stainless Steel Installation

This installation brings together reflective stainless-steel spheres and vertical cylindrical elements within an architectural setting. Their highly polished surfaces mirror the surrounding buildings, sky and visitors, allowing the appearance of the artwork to shift continuously with its environment.

The project included dimensional planning, structural engineering, internal steel reinforcement, metal forming, welding, grinding and mirror polishing. Custom steel-and-concrete foundations were developed to securely support each element.

The components were fabricated and finished individually before being transported, positioned and installed using specialist lifting equipment. The result combines a clean sculptural form with complex engineering and precise metalwork.
